Jabugo salted ham (Maria Moreno Cámara)
*Why is Jabugo famous?Jabugo is a region that is in Huelva,Andalucía.This village is famous for the manufacture of Iberian ham o Jabugo ham.In Jabugo there is a special type of pig:the Iberian pig is the only one capable of create the famous Jabugo ham.
*What do these pig eat?These pigs eat acorns and are in constant motion.These two factors mean that the meat is of high quality.
*How much is a kilo of Jabugo ham?The price of a kilo of Jabugo ham is 30-40 euros.The "normal" ham is more cheaper.
*What are the tapas?Tapas are small amounts of food that are often taken with a drink before the lunch.Are many types of tapas of Jabugo ham or other food.

The Prado Museum is located in Madrid .
In The Prado Avenue near:

OPENING HOURS:
-The Museum is opened fron Tuesday to Sunday and holidays from at 9 am until at 8 pm.
-At Christmas Eve ,New Years Eve and 6ºth January from 9 am until 2 pm.
- The Museum is closed on Mondays and holidays on Mondays , Christmas Day , 1ºst January , and the 1 May.
TICKET PRICE:
The ticket price is 6 euros a head.
The ticket reduced price is 3 euros .
The free admision is for:
-The persons under eighteen .
-From European Union sixty-five years old adults.
-Pensioners .
-European Union unemployed person .
The days of free admission are :
- 12 October (public holidays ).
- 19 November (Anniversary of Prado Museum).
- 6 December (Constitution Day ).
- 2 May (public holidays of the Madrid Community).
- 18 May (International Day of Museums).

The little shop is very interesting too.
But the jewell that few people know is the Museum inside. there are wonderful GOYA original drawings and wonderful sculptures by famous artists.

La Comunidad de Madrid y la Academia de Gastronomía de Madrid pondrán en marcha rutas gastronómicas para atraer más visitantes a la región, en virtud de un acuerdo que firmarán hoy la viceconsejera de Cultura y Turismo, Concha Guerra, y el presidenta de la Academia de Gastronomía de Madrid, Miguel Garrido de la Cierva, informó el Gobierno regional.

The Summers were in Madrid
Dear friends and students,
The reason to create this blog has been having my dear family from Spokane visiting me in Madrid this November 2008.
The purpose will be to create new tourist guides from my students in class this course and maybe following ones.
"Do you know Madrid well"
"Can you take friends from abroad or outside Madrid around the city"
"Which would be your favourite places in the city"
We will make entries and post our findings on the important sites in the city.
We will also include interesting links.
And we will learn a lot too about the capital city in Spain.
Good luck to all of us.
